Keep Your Décor Warm and Gorgeous with These 7 Suggestions.

When all the Christmas decorations are taken down in early January, it's a bit jarring, and your house may seem a little empty. Removing all of the decoration at this time of year already adds to the January blues!

To keep everyone excited throughout the long, cold, dreary months ahead, we've compiled a list of ideas for keeping your home in a fashion warm place.

1 - Decorations for the seasons

While decorations for the holiday season are most associated with Halloween and Christmas, there is no reason you shouldn't put up decorations for January! While you're cleaning out your Christmas supplies, keep the ones that are more about ice, snowflakes, and cold weather activities.

2 - Replace the cushions to match.

One thing is for sure: the winter months can be particularly cold, which is why we want to avoid them. With that in mind, replacing your curtains, cushions, rugs, and blankets with thicker and textured materials might help you feel warmer. Knitted blankets, fake sheepskin carpets, and hefty throws that you can snuggle.

3 - Choose from a variety of cozy lighting designs.

Although it's been a week since Christmas, when we get home from work, our houses are still in darkness. Because most of us are attempting to save money in January, going out isn't an option, and curled up in front of the television or with a good book on a night is at the top of many people's lists.

You don't have to purchase various lighting just for the winter, as you probably already own everything you need. To focus attention on sections of the room that you want people to notice, experts recommend using a blend of lighting techniques including ambient light (usually the main ceiling light), task lighting (such as table lamps and reading lights).

Aside from that, candles and fairy lights may make our homes extra pleasant. Scented candles and fairy lights are two excellent methods to create a relaxing atmosphere in your home. Those beautiful soft white fairy lights you took off the tree? Wrap them around your mantel, use them in an unoperational fireplace, or adorn your house plants.

4 - Bring flowers in.

Even if you're only looking in supermarkets, you'll always be able to find something. If you're lucky, some early daffodils may appear in January, reminding you that spring is on the way. Dried bouquets are another option – and there is no shortage of them if kept indoors.

5 - Re-organize your shelves

After the hectic atmosphere that all the Christmas decorations might create, returning to a regular schedule and regaining some sense of order might be beneficial. If you've received ornaments, photos in frames, or books as gifts, storing them will be a top priority.

Of course, we're huge fans of Ben Simpson Furniture's excellent shelving - it's where our company began. There is a certain skill to shelf-stylizing, and we've provided some helpful hints in this article on how to style your ideal #shelfie, whether you use bracket shelves or floating shelves.

6 - Choose a new fragrance for your house.

You may use aromas to decorate your home for January in more ways than one, and your sense of smell is quite important. The traditional Christmas scents of fir, cinnamon, and cloves are removed as the Christmas decorations go up. Every conclusion includes a fresh beginning.

Whether you've used any scents over the holidays, there are still plenty of warm, comfy, wintery ones to choose from. Orange, vanilla, and sandalwood are all fantastic wintery choices that aren't overly Christmassy.

Keep the coffee or tea flowing.

You'll know exactly how wonderful Irish coffees, mulled wine, and spiked cocoa can be for lifting your spirits when you come home from a walk in the winter if you've been drinking them throughout the holidays. You can still get that hygge feeling when you come in from the cold even if you're going through the tough work of quitting.

Set up a hot drinks station in your kitchen with your favorite mugs, and keep an assortment of luxurious beverages on hand. If you're on a diet and don't want dessert after dinner, they can serve as desserts instead. Even if you're not on a fitness kick, they'll help to lift your spirits every time you have one.

Last thoughts:

January may not be our favorite month, but with a few minor adjustments to your home, it doesn't have to feel like you're trapped inside while the wind and rain rage outside.

You may enjoy being at home for the shorter days until Valentine's Day arrives when it is time to bring spring flowers into your house if you get your seasonal decorations correct with plenty of soft furnishings, blankets, and lighting as well as a delectable new scent and rearranging your shelves.
